Wickhouse

Privacy

This site runs no analytics, and as you browse it, it loads nothing from other companies. It sets one cookie, wick_creator, and only after a creator signs in to the Creator Network; it does nothing but keep them signed in, and it is gone when they sign out or after thirty days. Nobody else gets a cookie from this site.

The one exception is a video you choose to play. Some Lab pages offer the studio’s own live stream, which is on YouTube. Until you press play, nothing from YouTube is loaded. When you do, YouTube’s player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and from then on YouTube (Google) handles that video under its own privacy policy.

If you play a Lab experiment in your browser, it is served from this site and runs on your computer. Anything it remembers between visits (such as the rats in Rat Jail) is kept in your browser’s own storage and never sent here. Clearing your browser’s data for this site erases it.

If you sign up for release emails, your email address is stored, along with the page you signed up on and the date. It is used to send you an email when a demo or a game is released, and for nothing else. It is never sold or shared. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Email is delivered by Resend, which is given your address only to deliver it; opens and clicks are not tracked.

If you send a message, the name, email address and message you type are stored so they can be read and answered.

If you apply to the Creator Network, what you type on the application is stored: your creator name and legal name, email address, country, time zone and language, your channel links with the audience numbers and start dates you give for them, what you cover and what content you are happy to show, your Discord handle if you give one, your note to the studio, and when you confirmed you are 18 or older and accepted the creator terms. It is used to read the application, to sign you in by email, and to run any campaign you take part in, and for nothing else. None of it is ever shown publicly. Signing in stores the time and the browser of the sign-in for as long as the session lasts.

If you take part in a paid campaign, your legal name, how you want to be paid (Zelle or Wise, and the email or phone number it goes to) and whether we have your tax form are stored too. They are used only to pay you and to keep the tax records the law asks for, and are never shown publicly. The tax form itself is not stored on this site.

If you send feedback or a bug report, what you write is stored, and your email address only if you give one. A report opened from inside a game also carries what the page shows you before you send it: the game's version, your operating system, and where in the run you were. Nothing of that is sent until you press send on that page. A report may be summed up, in the studio's own words, on the public list of known issues on the feedback page; what you wrote, your address and your run are never shown there.

If you play one of the games, the game sends this site what happens in it, so it can be tuned: the game, its version, whether it is the browser or the downloaded version, the name of the operating system, and what happened on each shift (which round, what was reported, whether it was right, what caught you, how long it took). Nothing about who you are: no name, no account, no address is stored, and no identifier lasts past that launch of the game. Each launch makes a random id in memory and never saves it, so two launches cannot be linked to each other or to a person. The game asks you before your first shift, yes or no, and sends nothing until you have answered; the answer is a switch in its settings (“Send anonymous play data”) that you can change any time.

The site is hosted on Railway, which keeps ordinary server logs (such as IP addresses) for a short time. To have anything of yours deleted, send a message.
