Announced. The Broken Order is a first-person gothic shooter, and development has started.

The story

For three hundred years the Order of the Ironwood kept watch against the Hollow Choir, a cult whose rot hollows people out and fills them with certainty until there is nothing in the robe but the robe.

On the night you knelt to be made a knight, the rot came up out of the catacombs and killed every knight in the abbey. You wake the last one alive. The dead speak out of the gun: “Get up, knight. The vigil is not over.”

How it was made

Some 3D models (characters, enemies, props and the guns) were generated with Meshy from the developer’s prompts, then rigged, re-textured and finished by hand. Some wall images and portraits were made with Midjourney. The knight’s voice and many sound effects were generated with ElevenLabs from the developer’s scripts. Design, writing, level layout and code are the developer’s. Nothing is generated while you play.

The Broken Order is made by one developer at Wickhouse Games Studio. It is single-player, with no live service, no microtransactions and no online requirement.
