Only Way Down
The maze never blocks. It taxes.
First-person horror
A descent through the Paris catacombs. Thirty junctions, fifty-five galleries, one lamp on your head, and a gate somewhere below you. There is no wall to wait out and no puzzle to solve - every wrong turn is just a longer walk in the dark, and the dark is what you are paying with.
Demo coming soon.

A descent through the Paris catacombs. Thirty junctions, fifty-five galleries, one lamp on your head, and a gate somewhere below you.
There is no wall to wait out and no puzzle to solve. Take a wrong turn and nothing stops you — it just costs you a longer walk in the dark. The dark is what you are paying with.

How it was made
Design, writing, level layout and code are the developer’s, written with an AI coding assistant. The bone walls and the two figures at the entry were generated with Meshy from the developer’s prompts, then welded, decimated, scaled, re-textured and rigged by hand. Dust and smoke particles are Kenney’s Particle Pack, CC0. The project keeps a credits file naming every asset and what was changed. Nothing is generated while you play.
Only Way Down is made by one developer at Wickhouse Games Studio. It is single-player, with no live service, no microtransactions and no online requirement.
