The ledger: every anomaly you have ever caught, in one book

Night Rounds: End of Watch 1.2 is on itch.io, in the browser and as the Windows download: wickhouse.itch.io/night-rounds. It adds the thing the game was missing: a way to know what you have found.

The ledger

The ledger: a numbered list of all 31 anomalies in two columns, the found ones named, the rest showing only their kind

There are 31 things that can be wrong with the wing. Until now the only one who knew which of them you had caught was the wing itself: it remembers what you have reported and stops dealing it, so you keep meeting new ones. But it never showed you the list.

Now it does. LEDGER on the title screen opens the book. Every anomaly has a numbered line. The ones you have reported right are written in by name. The ones you haven't show only their kind, which the panel tells you anyway when you miss one, so the book never gives away where to look.

A shift still ends after eight right rounds. The ledger is the longer game: thirty-one lines to fill, across as many shifts as it takes. When the last one goes in, the book says so. That is the wing finished.

The end-of-shift card with a fourth number: LEDGER 5 / 31

The end-of-shift card shows your count too, so you can see it move.

What counts as found

Reporting ANOMALY when the thing is there, from either airlock. A guess that happens to be right counts. Being caught does not, and neither does a false alarm. If something comes round again that you have already logged, it stays logged.

If you said yes

If you said yes to sending play data when the game asked, thank you. The first shifts are coming in, and they are already telling me which anomalies nobody reports and which scares catch everyone. The next build is tuned on that. The ledger now sends one more line, when a new anomaly goes into your book, so I can see how far people get through it.

Tell me what got you

And if you fill the book, I want to hear about it.
